The giant swing at Far and Wide was the ultimate test of nerve—a towering pendulum that drew a sharp line between the bold and the cautious, or perhaps more accurately, between the thrill-seekers and the risk-averse. This human slingshot didn’t just launch people into the air—it hurled them face-first into their deepest fears. Many who had braved it during POTRAZ’s 2020 visit still spoke of the experience with wide eyes and shaky laughter, recounting how it felt as though their very souls had momentarily vacated their bodies on the first heart-stopping drop, only to return once the swing’s momentum began to ease.

And yet, in this crucible of adrenaline and fear, something remarkable happened. People rallied around one another. The terrified were cheered on by the bold, and the hesitant were lifted by the collective courage of the group. Even those who had once sworn “never again” found themselves coaxed back into the harness—driven not by pressure, but by the spirit of shared challenge and triumph.

Each swing, whether a first-time plunge or a repeat performance, was met with explosive cheers, rhythmic clapping, and spontaneous song. The air pulsed with the sound of the beloved primary school war cry, “Tambirai masoja awinner kuhondo!”—a triumphant anthem echoing through the hills as colleagues danced, sang, and celebrated every leap of courage.

The atmosphere was electric, the energy infectious. What unfolded that day was more than a series of thrilling rides—it was a powerful demonstration of unity, support, and unshakable team spirit. At Far and Wide, the entire POTRAZ family wasn’t just conquering a swing—they were connecting with one another.

That electrifying energy set the tone for the rest of the retreat—a two-day journey designed to strengthen the culture of teamwork and collaboration within the Authority. Far from the rigidity of office routines, employees from across departments immersed themselves in a series of structured activities that tested endurance, strategy, coordination, and, most importantly, trust.![""]("http://www.potraz.gov.zw/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/IMG_0828-Enhanced-NR-2-300x200.jpg")

But nothing captured the essence of teamwork quite like the retreat’s crown jewel: the treasure hunt.

Armed with only a map, determination, and each other, teams ventured deep into the wilderness to locate flags hidden along winding trails and forested paths. It wasn’t just about finding objects; it was about navigating the unknown—together. With GPS signals failing and paths becoming more obscure, teams had to rely on instinct, leadership, and seamless communication. Every decision counted. Every voice mattered.

![""]("http://www.potraz.gov.zw/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/IMG_0643-2-Enhanced-NR-1-300x200.jpg")

What emerged was nothing short of transformative. Leaders stepped up naturally. Ideas flowed freely. Strangers became trusted allies. With each flag discovered, cheers rang out. There were high-fives, impromptu dances, and spontaneous singing—every celebration a testament to shared effort and mutual respect.

![""]("http://www.potraz.gov.zw/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/IMG_1602-Enhanced-NR-2-300x200.jpg")

The treasure hunt wasn’t simply the highlight of the retreat—it was a living metaphor for what true teamwork looks like: navigating uncertainty, lifting each other up, and celebrating every small victory as one. By the end of the week, the change was palpable. Morale had soared. Departmental walls had crumbled. And in their place stood a stronger, more connected POTRAZ—ready to face future challenges not as individuals, but as a unified, resilient team.

Such was the power of the swing. Such was the spirit of the hunt. Such was the triumph of team spirit at Far and Wide.
